Tornados leave Lossiemouth for the last time

The reserve training squadron remains but the operational fighter bombers as from yesterday are being replaced by the newer Typhoons and will form part of this country's QRA (Quick Reaction Alert) Force, intercepting threats that enter UK airspace. We were very fortunate to be able to photograph Tornado's last year at Lossiemouth, we didn't realise that is the last chance we would have there to see them. The Tornado has been the mainstay of the RAF for the past 40 years and is a very popular aircraft.
